In his evening address on 23 December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the ability to shoot down Russian fighter jets is one of the keys to a just end to the war.
"This week, we have once again proved how effective the strengthening of our air shield is. And not only for protecting cities and villages from Russian drones and missiles, but also for frontline work. The ability to shoot down Russian fighters is one of the keys to ending this war, to bringing it to a just end. And I thank all the partners who are already helping us with this and who are preparing to take appropriate steps to support us next year," the president said.
He also said that there were new sanctions decisions.
"I have signed the relevant decrees, they have already been published. This concerns a total of more than 130 legal entities and more than 20 individuals. Those who work for the Russian aggression, those who help it, those who have taken the dastardly path of collaboration with the terrorist state. All of them will be held accountable for their actions," he noted.
