From 28 December 2023 to 6 January 2024, counter-sabotage and security measures will be stepped up in Kyiv Region. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the decision was made at the Kyiv Defence Council.

These measures will be carried out with the participation of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the National Guard and the 114th separate territorial defence brigade.

The number of checkpoints is also increasing in Kyiv Region. People's gathering places, such as shopping centres, supermarkets, railway stations, medical facilities, etc. will be subject to checks.

The RMA notes that such work will also facilitate search operations. According to the police, more than 11,000 people are wanted for criminal and administrative offences.

Therefore, they ask every resident of Kyiv Region and guests of the Region to be understanding of security measures and possible vehicle stops at checkpoints. Residents and guests of the region are reminded to have their identity documents with them.

They are also urged to be vigilant and report to law enforcement officers any people taking photos or videos of defence or critical infrastructure.

Prior to this, security exercises were held in Kyiv Region for three days, which included the deployment of checkpoints and document checks.
