Today, on 11 January, the so-called "court" of the DPR terrorist group sentenced 26-year-old Ukrainian soldier Oleksandr Kovalyk to 25 years in a maximum security colony, Suspilne reported, quoting the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The APC gunner of the 1st Separate Marine Battalion of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kovalyk, was accused of allegedly killing a car driver with a machine gun in April 2022 at positions near the Ilich plant in Mariupol.

The announced "sentences" are carried out by quasi-entities unrecognised by the international community and are illegal. Such a "trial" is a violation of the right to a fair trial and another war crime by Russia.
