Col-Gen Oleksandr Syrskyy, commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that the Russian army command has not achieved the goals it set in recent months, ArmyInform reports.

"I would rather say that the Russian army's offensive is failing," said Syrskyy, answering a question about the Russian army's winter offensive.

"They have repeatedly set themselves deadlines for the capture of certain settlements, reaching certain borders, and then postponed them - they have really failed in these tasks," he added.

However, he noted that the enemy continues to advance in several directions and has the resources to do so.

The day before, Syrskyy said that the Russians were planning to resume offensive operations in the Siversk sector. The Russian army continues assault operations at the Kupyansk, Lyman and Bakhmut sectors.
