The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed the head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, has said.
According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Oleh Korikov from the position of first deputy head of the SNRIU and appointed him as the head of the Inspectorate.
The government also dismissed Oleksandr Butenko from the post of deputy minister of community development, territories and infrastructure.
Who is Oleh Korikov?
- From 1993 to 2018, he worked at Energoatom. He started as a turbine equipment operator of the 6th group of the turbine department of the operational unit of Zaporizhzhya NPP Unit 3 and became the director of investments and prospective development of Energoatom.
- From 2018 to 2020, he was the director of the Department of Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Industry of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.
- From 2020 to 2021, he worked as deputy director general of the Central Radioactive Waste Management Enterprise.
- From 2021, he was the first deputy head of the then State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine.
