President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said there will be new defence aid packages for Ukraine and security agreements with partners.

In his evening video address on 20 January, he said the first results were expected in January and February.

"We are preparing new agreements with partners - strong bilateral agreements. January and February should bring relevant results. We already see specific dates when we can sign new and strong documents. I am grateful to our entire team involved in the negotiations, to all those leaders, to those states that are ready for really ambitious decisions," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, preparations are also underway to work with key partners "on specific defence support right now, in these weeks and months."

"There will be new defence packages. I am grateful to all the friends of Ukraine in the world who understand that the battlefield cannot simply wait and that saving lives cannot be postponed, and to all those who are trying to speed up the decisions that are needed - needed right now," the president said.
