Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, commented on the International Atomic Energy Agency's statement about mining of the plant's territory.

He said on the air of the news telethon that the Russian occupying forces had turned the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant into a military facility and the threat to ZNPP would remain as long as the occupiers controlled the plant's territory.

"Last year, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine published maps of minefields that the Russians had set up around the perimeter of Zaporizhzhya NPP and inside the plant itself. At the time, IAEA experts did not confirm these facts or comment on the situation, nor did they pay attention to the areas where such things were present," Yusov said.

He pointed out that Russian troops are likely to move assets and forces before the IAEA commissions. In particular, this concerns mines and personnel.

He added that the threat to ZNPP would remain as long as the plant is under the control of terrorists.

"Only the return of the plant to Ukrainian control will allow us to restore compliance with international nuclear law and ensure the safety of the facility," Yusov added.

Yesterday it became known that the Russians had mined ZNPP again. The IAEA experts also reported that ZNPP lost the backup power supply to the reactor units for eight hours this week.
