Poland joined the Group of Seven declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine. This was announced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on 22 January.
"I informed Mr President that Poland has joined the G7 declaration, a declaration that was drawn up at the summit in Vilnius. This declaration should mobilise democratic states to support Ukraine and maximise Ukraine's security," Tusk said.
He added that "Poland will do everything possible to increase the chances of Ukraine's victory in this war".
For his part, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Polish side had expressed its readiness to start work on a bilateral agreement between the two countries.
"I am sure that the agreement can be very ambitious, exactly what our peoples need. I would also like to thank you for the joint work with Poland on the Peace Formula - Poland supports global efforts and participates in relevant meetings. This is important," Zelenskyy said.
