More than 2,000 computers were affected by a cyberattack on a Ukrainian state-owned enterprise today, 1 February, according to the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.
The government's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-UA), which operates under the State Special Communications Service, provided practical assistance to the state-owned enterprise. The company's computers were massively infected by the DIRTYMOE (PURPLEFOX) malware, which provides remote access to infected devices.
During the inspection, experts found more than 2,000 infected computers in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet.
