During his visit to Ukraine, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell met President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Borrell said on X that Zelenskyy "asked for additional ammunition, drones and air defence systems".
Borrell stressed that "mobilising additional EU military equipment for Ukraine is my top priority".
"We have to do more and do it faster," the diplomat said.
Borrell also stressed that "Ukraine's future is in the European Union" and that our country "has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to reforms and will soon start accession negotiations".
"We will continue to work side by side to make this happen," he added.
Zelenskyy called the meeting with Borrell "productive". He informed the European diplomat about the situation on the battlefield.
"I am grateful for the support of Ukraine and Ukrainians. In times of extraordinary challenges, in our battle for freedom, sovereignty and independence, all free European nations are on the side of Ukraine and the international order based on rules," the president said in a post on Facebook.
