At least one person was killed and seven wounded in the night shelling of Selidove, said Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk regional military administration.
A 6-year-old child is among the wounded.
The Russians shelled the town seven times, damaging 7 high-rise buildings, three private houses, three educational institutions and an administrative building. In addition, 8 cars were damaged.
Filashkin noted that these are only preliminary results. The exact extent of the damage is being established.
According to the prosecutor's office, on 8 February 2024, at around 00:30, Russian troops carried out a massive missile attack on the town of Selidove.The occupiers once again fired at residential buildings, where there are apartment buildings along with the private sector.
As a result of the Russian attack on the peaceful town, a 50-year-old woman who worked as a guard and was in the office building was killed. Her body was taken from the rubble of the destroyed administrative building.
Seven civilians were injured - four women aged 38 to 88, two men aged 18 and 51 and a 6-year-old boy.
They were taken to hospital with mine-blast injuries and bruises. The child was diagnosed with a cut wound to the head. All of them were at their places of residence.
Several residential buildings and educational institutions were damaged and some of them were destroyed as a result of Russian missiles, the type of which is currently being investigated.
Filashkin also reported on the situation in other districts of Donetsk Region that suffered from shelling.Kramatorsk district. The Lyman community was shelled 18 times, and the neighbourhood of Kostyantynivka community is under fire.
Bakhmut district. In Chasovoyarsk community, two private houses were damaged. In the Siverska community, a house in Serebryanka was damaged. In Zvanivka, three houses were damaged.
In total, Russians fired 7 times at the settlements of Donetsk Region over the last day. 81 people were evacuated from the frontline, including 12 children.
