The Russian army is seeking to quickly recapture Avdiyivka, which is why the front line is moving in both directions. This was stated by the spokesman for the Tavriya Defence Forces, Dmytro Lykhoviy, during a telethon.
"The situation is dynamic. We see the enemy's intentions, we see where they want to advance to cut the logistics supply artery in Avdiyivka and ensure an operational encirclement. The contact line is not moving in one direction as it may seem to some," noted the spokesman.
Lykhoviy adds that while the Russian army used to employ the tactics of small infantry groups, it is now increasingly using armoured vehicles, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.
