The first meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff in its new composition has taken place, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
The meeting was attended by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyy, Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Barhylevych, as well as representatives of intelligence agencies and commanders of operational and strategic groups of forces.
"Priority issues remain unchanged: the frontline and the protection of frontline regions, people and critical infrastructure from Russian air terror. Avdiyivka, Kupyansk, the south. Providing the army with everything it needs: shells, drones, electronic warfare," Zelenskyy said.
In addition, there were reports from energy officials and heads of civil-military administrations of the frontline regions. They discussed the further development of multi-level protection of electricity, water and heat supply facilities.
According to Zelenskyy, the Staff decided to increase the number and capabilities of mobile fire groups.
- Last week, Zelenskyy dismissed Oleksandr Zaluzhnyy and appointed Oleksandr Syrskyy as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- The president also changed the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Serhiy Shaptala was replaced by Anatoliy Barhylevych.
- The president also changed the commanders of the Ground Forces, the Joint Forces, the Air Force, and the Airborne Forces.
