On the night of 21 February 2024, Russians attacked the territory of Ukraine with missiles and drones launched from the territory of the Russian Federation. This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian Air Force.

In particular, the invaders launched an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile and four X-22 cruise missiles from Rostov Region, an X-59 guided missile from Belgorod Region, and 19 Shahed attack drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

"As a result of combat operations, an X-59 guided missile was destroyed in Poltava Region and 13 out of 19 Shaheds in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Donetsk Regions. Some of the six unhit Russian UAVs did not reach their targets," the Air Force added.

It was noted that anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
