The Centre for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine has said that, together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), uncovered a large-scale Russian campaign to discredit Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy.

Russia is spreading fakes about the situation at the front and about the Commander-in-Chief to influence the military's morale. Russia is promoting destructive messages through a network of fake accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X and Telegram created by Russian special services.

The Centre also reported that the information warfare units of the Russian special services have recently become significantly more active both in Ukraine and in NATO member states.

https://t.me/sirskygdety - "Has Syrskyy been found?". A Russian provocative account created on 12 March 2022 (interestingly, the date coincides with the creation of the previous one). It promoted the idea that no-one had seen Syrsky for a long time. One of the posts has a photo and a narrative similar to the FB account for the fake news above

https://t.me/cheeseofficialua - only one post and one follower, the channel was created on 14 February 2024 to advertise the channel https://t.me/WarNews_UA_tg
