Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that today the government would decide to open a new checkpoint on the border with Hungary.
It will be the Velyka Palad-Nagyhodos checkpoint which will process passenger cars, thus helping reduce queues and speed up border crossing for Ukrainians.
In addition, the officials agreed to expand the operation of another checkpoint on the border with Hungary - Luzhanka-Beregsurany. It is expected that empty trucks will now be able to pass without weight restrictions, as well as passenger and freight vehicles with a maximum weight of 7.5 tonnes.
Meanwhile, the situation on the Polish border remains difficult. In particular, today a Ukrainian cargo of agricultural products was damaged in Poland again. This time, the Poles damaged rapeseed that was supposed to be sent to Germany.
