The outcome of the war in Ukraine will be decided this spring and summer, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on the evening of 14 March after meetings in Washington, Sky News reported.
Calling for continued support for Ukraine amid doubts about the extension of US military aid to Kyiv, Borrell told reporters that Ukraine cannot wait for the results of the US presidential election in November.
It is noted that many analysts expect a major Russian offensive this summer.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that Russia is preparing a new offensive against Ukraine, which will begin in late May or summer.

"This spring, this summer, by autumn, the issue of the war in Ukraine will be resolved... Many analysts expect a major Russian offensive this summer, and Ukraine cannot wait for the results of the US elections," Borrell told reporters on 14 March after meetings in Washington.
According to Borrell, in all his meetings, he emphasised the consequences of Russia's victory in Ukraine, in particular, that Putin would not rest on his laurels.
The EU diplomat stressed that in helping Ukraine, "whatever needs to be done must be done quickly".
