At a meeting on 21 March, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a decision on the work of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration of the powers provided for by the law on the legal regime of martial law.

The resolution was voted for by 236 MPs. This was reported by Iryna Herashchenko, a member of the European Solidarity faction.

"This decision sets a precedent for the dissolution of local councils in the territories that have not been occupied. And the transfer of their powers to the Civil-Military Administration (CMA)," she wrote.

According to her, the regional council in Zaporizhzhya has not been able to meet for two years.

"But it is necessary to terminate the powers of collaborators and corrupt officials in the Zaporizhzhya Regional Council and restart its work with new honest deputies," she added.

The resolution was supported by the Servants of the People and the Motherland faction.

"The European Solidarity party did not vote for this resolution, we see great threats to decentralisation in such decisions," Herashchenko said.
