On the night of 24 March, the Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed 18 Russian Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 25 Shahed-136/131 attack drones, Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk has reported.
According to the commander, on the night of 24 March, Russia attacked Ukraine with 29 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from 14 Tu-95MS strategic aircraft (Engels launch area) and 28 Shahed attack UAVs (launched from Russia's Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea).
Anti-aircraft missile units and fighter aircraft of the Air Force, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare equipment of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
As a result of the anti-aircraft effort, 43 air targets were destroyed: 18 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 25 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs within Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kyiv, Volyn and Lviv regions.
