President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed his first aide Serhiy Shefir and several other advisers, according to a decree published on his official website.

Among the dismissed are the envoy for volunteer activities, Nataliya Pushkaryova, and the envoy for defenders' rights, Alyona Verbytska.

Other non-staff advisers dismissed are Mykhaylo Radutskyy, Serhiy Trofimov and Oleh Ustenko.

Serhiy Shefir was one of the driving forces of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's election campaign and became the president's first aide in May 2019. He is one of President Zelenskyy's most important associates. Prior to his political career, Shefir worked with Zelenskyy at Studio Kvartal-95.

In 2021, Shefir survived an assassination attempt. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he regarded the attempt on his life as personal and pressure on him.
