President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved the nomination of former National Security and Defence Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov for the post of ambassador to Moldova. The president announced this in his evening address.
Zelenskyy noted that Moldova is currently under direct threat from Russian aggression. The country is also an important country for Ukraine in terms of security challenges and bilateral cooperation.
"Oleksiy Danilov will continue to work on the diplomatic track - more specifically, I have agreed his nomination as the new ambassador of our country to the Republic of Moldova," he said.
According to Zelenskyy, this is how Danilov saw his career development.
"On the diplomatic front, we spend a lot of energy not only on countering Russian influence, but also on persuading our partners to increase the supply of air defence systems and missiles to them," the president added.
