The searches were conducted in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland as part of the case of possible procurement of weapons at inflated prices in April 2022 - February 2023, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) reports.
The agency notes that this became possible due to the cooperation of the NABU and SAPO with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Criminal Terrorism and Homicide Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department of the Republic of Poland within the framework of the international legal assistance mechanism.
The investigative actions are aimed at examining the supply chain of foreign weapons and verifying information about possible artificial overpricing of their value through the participation of intermediary companies registered outside Ukraine.
The collected evidence will be used by NABU detectives to provide a legal assessment of the actions of the officials. The investigation is currently ongoing.
