The mayor and secretary of a city council in Dnipropetrovs'k region were caught receiving USD 30,000 in bribes, the Prosecutor General's Office reports.
According to the investigation, the suspects demanded and received USD 30,000 from a business entity. In return for this money, they promised to facilitate the transfer of a 4,500 sq m unfinished construction project into a long-term lease with the possibility of further registration of ownership of the building.
Law enforcement officers detained them in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
The issue of choosing a type of detention is currently being decided.
According to Ukrayinska Pravda's sources, last week the NABU searched the former head of the Dnipro Regional State Administration in connection with the case of his friend. Yana Khlanta's company received UAH 1.5 billion for road repairs during the full-scale war.
