Ukraine and Latvia have signed a security agreement. The document was signed by Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Edgars Rinkēvičs.

Latvia will provide Ukraine with military assistance worth 0.25% of GDP annually. In addition, Latvia assumes a 10-year commitment to support Ukraine in cyber defence, demining, unmanned technologies, and unconditionally facilitates our accession to the EU and NATO, the Ukrainian president said.

"I am grateful to friendly Latvia! This is exactly the specificity and predictability that our struggle for freedom and independence requires," he said.

This year, Latvia will provide military support worth about 112 million euros.

"The document confirms the readiness of the Republic of Latvia to help with recovery and reconstruction, protection of critical infrastructure, demining, unmanned aerial vehicles and cyber security. The agreement also clearly states Latvia's support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO. The document is valid for ten years and provides for the possibility of extending it by mutual agreement of the parties," the President of Ukraine's website said.

The Latvian president also commented on the agreement.

"It is a pleasure to see President Zelenskyy again, this time in Vilnius. Latvia and Ukraine have signed a long-term agreement on support and security commitments, and Latvia is committed to providing Ukraine with military support in the amount of 0.25% of GDP," the Latvian president commented in X.
