On 11 April, a meeting of the Kharkiv Regional Defence Council decided to forcibly evacuate families with children from 47 frontline settlements. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synyehubov.
He noted that the only settlements affected are those close to the border with Russia in Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv and Izyum districts.
"According to our information, 182 children live in the designated settlements. The city of Kharkiv is not affected by this decision," emphasised Synyehubov.
He added that the evacuation routes have already been determined and places of temporary residence have been booked.
