The spokesman for the Khortytsya operational and strategic grouping of troops, Lieutenant Colonel Nazar Voloshyn, said that Russian troops are trying to capture the town of Chasiv Yar from different flanks through the settlements of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske.
The spokesman said this during a live telethon, Army.Inform reports.
"As for Chasiv Yar, the situation is fully controlled by the Defence Forces. Of course, the greatest pressure is on the Bakhmut direction, and Chasiv Yar. They are trying to take the frontline positions. They are using various tactics to do so," said Voloshyn.
Despite the fact that the assault continues around the clock, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling all enemy attacks.
"Of course, Russian aviation is annoying. They drop about 20-30 guided aerial bombs a day. This is how they cover up their assault operations, with which they are trying to storm the settlement," he added.
Voloshyn noted that Russian aviation destroys civilian infrastructure where there are no military facilities or military personnel.
"This is their tactic - to destroy everything in their path," Voloshyn stressed.
Resnyk added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces need help from international partners in the form of large-calibre ammunition and the necessary equipment to change the situation in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka sectors.
