Zelenskyy: Dividing aid to Ukraine, Israel to show that this is pure politics, election issue

"When the whole world is talking about how Iran was able to attack Israel, we should now populistically help only Israel and forget about what is happening in Ukraine. This is pure politics. This means that no one cares how many people die in Ukraine every day, they care about their ratings."

Dividing US aid into Israel and Ukraine would mean that "this is a matter of US elections and pure politics," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with PBS on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

Earlier, US House Speaker Mike Johnson presented four separate bills on aid to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and national security priorities. Johnson said that this week, congressmen will consider individual bills "with a structured and appropriate amendment process" - funding for Israel; support for Ukraine in the war against Russian aggression; strengthening allies in the Indian Pacific region; taking additional measures to counter enemies and strengthen national security.

"If the Congress takes this aid and divides it into Israeli and Ukrainian aid after all that has happened(Iran's attack on Israel- ed.), it shows that this is an election issue in the United States of America. And this is just pure politics," Zelenskyy said.

"Now, when the whole world is talking about how Iran was able to strike at Israel, we need to populistically help only Israel and forget about what is happening in Ukraine. This is pure politics. This means that no one cares how many people die in Ukraine every day, they care about their ratings," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, "they simply forget that the dead have no ratings. And if Ukraine fails, there will be a war in other NATO countries, and it will be... So before it's too late, I think we need to vote to help all the countries whose lives depend on it today."
