Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson promises that separate bills on aid to Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan will be voted on separately by the end of the week.

This was reported by The Hill.

As previously reported, the plan is supported by Democrats, but Johnson is facing threats from House member Marjorie Taylor Green and Congressman Thomas Massie. They insist on his dismissal for changing the legislative package.

Greene filed a motion for Johnson's resignation back in March, and Massie signaled his support for the initiative yesterday.

Many far-right lawmakers oppose sending additional aid to Ukraine specifically. Others are concerned that Johnson is not including security measures on the US-Mexico border in the package. Despite the growing pressure, Johnson refuses to step down, calling himself the "wartime speaker of the House." The speaker is now trying to gather the votes needed to approve aid to Kyiv.
