The Czech initiative has accumulated enough funds for almost 500,000 rounds of ammunition for Ukraine.
This statement was made by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala at a press conference in Brussels after a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the prime ministers of the Netherlands and Denmark, reports Yevropeyska Pravda.
"Thanks to the Czech ammunition initiative, we can already purchase approximately 500,000 large-calibre artillery shells. Almost 200,000 of them have already been contracted, and another 300,000 are being contracted now," Fiala said.
He added that the first deliveries could take place in June this year.
The Czech Republic, together with the Netherlands and Denmark, is also looking for various ways to help Kyiv meet its needs for air defence systems and air defence interceptors.
