Specialists from the Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate attacked an aircraft factory in Tatarstan today that produces and repairs Tu-22M and Tu-160M bombers, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing sources in the special services.
It is an aircraft plant in Kazan. According to media sources, the explosions on the territory of the Gorbunov aircraft plant occurred on 17 April at around 10 a.m. (Kyiv time).
Before that, an air raid went off near the Kazan aircraft plant. At the same time, the evacuation of personnel from the territory of the enterprise began.
Gorbunov's Kazan Aircraft Plant S7P (a branch of Tupolev) is one of Russia's largest aircraft companies. In February 2024, the Russian president visited the plant. Putin was inspecting upgraded models there.
