NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council will be held this Friday, 19 April, Radio Liberty reports.
The meeting will discuss the supply of air defence systems and ammunition to Ukraine.
In addition, at a press conference in Brussels on 17 April, after meeting with the prime ministers of the Netherlands, Denmark and the Czech Republic, the Alliance Secretary General stressed that NATO should increase its assistance to Kyiv, Yevropeyska Pravda reports.
According to Stoltenberg, Allies should give priority to helping Ukraine over meeting their own defence spending targets.
"... Ukraine needs more. Therefore, if the allies are faced with a choice between meeting NATO's defence spending targets and providing more assistance to Ukraine, my message is clear: send more to Ukraine," the Secretary General said.
In particular, Stoltenberg noted the decision of Denmark and the Netherlands to provide additional military assistance to Kyiv. He also mentioned the Czech initiative to search for artillery shells.
Denmark, according to the NATO Secretary General, has transferred all of its artillery systems to Ukraine, but "has certain plans to replenish them".
