In an interview with the BBC, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that if Ukraine loses the war with Russia, World War III will begin, and called on the US Congress to pass an important aid bill.
Denys Shmyhal cautiously expressed hope that US lawmakers would pass the bill, which provides $61 billion for Kyiv.
The House of Representatives is set to vote on the package this Saturday.
Shmyhal also added that Ukraine needs US funding "yesterday, not tomorrow, not today".
"If we do not protect... Ukraine will fall," he added, "and the global security system will be destroyed... and the whole world will need to find... a new security system. Or there will be many conflicts, many such wars, and eventually it could lead to World War III."
During the interview, Shmyhal was asked about the recent statement by Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, that members of his party are infected with Russian propaganda.
"We have to understand that disinformation and propaganda affect many people here in the United States, in the European Union, for example, in Ukraine," the Prime Minister stressed.
