On the night of 19 April, the Russians launched a combined attack on Ukraine with missiles of various types and attack drones, the Air Force Command reports.
The Russian military used a total of 36 air attack means - 22 missiles of various types and 14 attack drones:
- two X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aircraft (launch area of Ryazan - Russia);
- 14 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs (from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk Region - Russian Federation);
- 12 X-59/X-69 guided missiles (Kursk Region and from the Sea of Azov);
- two Iskander-K cruise missiles (from Crimea);
- six X-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 long-range strategic bombers (from the Black and Azov Seas).
"Anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Force, mobile firing groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.”
As a result of anti-aircraft combat, 29 air targets were destroyed:
- two X-101/X-555 cruise missiles;
- 14 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs;
- 11 X-59/X-69 guided missiles;
- two X-22 cruise missiles.
For the first time, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force in cooperation with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine destroyed a Tu-22M3 long-range strategic bomber, a carrier of X-22 cruise missiles used by Russian terrorists to hit peaceful Ukrainian cities. Today's attack was the first time two such missiles were destroyed.

"Ukraine needs more means, more missiles, to better protect the frontline territories from Russian terrorism," the Command stressed.
