The number of Russian attacks on all frontlines in Ukraine has increased in recent days, the Estonian Defence Forces Intelligence Centre has reported in a weekly summary, ERR reports.

Russia has made some progress: it made a tactical breakthrough northwest of Avdiyivka and advanced by 5 km. Near Chasiv Yar, the occupiers advanced from the southern flank. Frequent attacks and maintaining the operational pace indicate that the Russians are retaining the initiative, which puts the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a difficult position.

Estonian intelligence has stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces need support from Western partners and are short of ammunition. There is no unplanned retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces or breakthrough of the front line. Ukraine is forced to gradually relinquish control of territories where there are no prepared defensive positions or the possibility of defensive action.

No significant changes have been recorded between the settlements of Kreminna and Lyman. The occupiers continue to reorganise their units. This means that units on the front line are moving to the rear to restore and replenish supplies.

The Donetsk direction remains the main focus of the occupation forces' offensive. They continue their attempts to surround and capture Chasiv Yar to the west of Bakhmut. However, the town has powerful defensive fortifications, so the attacker suffers heavy losses in the fighting. The town is not expected to be captured quickly.

Intense fighting is taking place in the Avdiyivka-Maryinka area. Russia advanced towards Pervomayske.

On the southern frontline - in Zaporizhzhya and Kherson Regions - the intensity of fighting remains low.
