A new production facility of the German company Quantum Systems, a drone manufacturing plant, has been officially opened in Ukraine.
This is stated on the company's website.
The opening ceremony took place on 18 April with the participation of German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, who arrived on a visit to our country, and the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
Quantum supplies the Ukrainian army with reconnaissance drones and operates a local service, support, training and logistics centre with 25 Ukrainian employees. They train drone pilots and implement technological advances in reconnaissance systems on the ground.
According to the company, Quantum Systems Vector reconnaissance drones have been used in Ukraine since May 2022. To date, 212 systems have been delivered to Ukraine. Another 500 reconnaissance drones will be delivered by the end of the year.
The new plant is expected to increase production capacity to 1,000 drones per year, including the production of spare parts.
This is the second facility of the German company Quantum in Ukraine. It is expected to employ around 100 people by the end of the year. Quantum Systems will invest up to six million euros over the next two years.
Overall, the plant in Ukraine is the fourth of the German company's seven plants worldwide.
