The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has arrested the former head of the Chernivtsi Customs in a case of UAH 290 million in damages. This was reported by the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
On Wednesday, 17 April, HACC investigating judges imposed preventive measures on the former head of the customs office, a co-organiser of a criminal organisation operating at the Chernivtsi customs office, and one of the members of the criminal organisation who, on the instructions of the co-organiser, organised the beating of journalists.
The court upheld the prosecutor's position and imposed on the co-organiser a custodial measure of restraint with an alternative of UAH 60 million bail.
The member of the criminal organisation was placed in custody as a preventive measure. At the same time, the court set a bail of UAH 6 million as an alternative measure of restraint.

If bail is granted, the individuals will be subject to appropriate procedural obligations.
