The German Federal Government is launching a new initiative to provide Ukraine with additional air defence equipment, Tagesschau reports.
Before, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Defence Minister Boris Pistorius have contacted NATO, EU and third country partners.
According to a spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry, the Immediate Air Defence Action initiative is aimed at providing Kyiv with even more air defence support as soon as possible.
The German Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that "we need to take another serious look at whether there are other available systems that can be quickly provided to Ukraine".
