After the Ukrainian attack on the Kushchevske airfield, Russia may have been forced to withdraw about 40 aircraft of various types from the area and disperse them to numerous airfields away from the front line.
This was reported by the British Ministry of Defence, citing intelligence.
"The impact of this dispersal is unlikely to be immediately obvious or dramatic. However, Ukraine has already demonstrated the ability to strike much further into Russia than these dispersal points," the statement said.
The fact that Russia has taken such measures means that in order to maintain a constant presence on the battlefield, the duration of its aircraft's flights will have to be increased. This, in turn, will require more fuel and increase costs, as well as the workload of the crews, the report said.
The Kushchevsk military airfield, located in the Krasnodar Territory, was attacked by drones on the night of 27 April. According to preliminary data, a warehouse with UMPCs, which are used by the enemy to convert conventional bombs into guided ones, was destroyed. Among other things, frontline bombers were based at the airport.
