UP: Ukrainian drone sets range record during attack on Orenburg Region

A drone operated by the military from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has set a record for the range of an attack. On 26 May, it attacked the Voronezh M long-range target detection radar station located in Orsk. This was reported to Ukrayinska Pravda by sources in the DIU.

The drone flew more than 1800 kilometres to the Orenburg Region. The consequences are being clarified. 

"The Ukrainian drone has covered a distance of more than 1800 kilometres to the enemy's facility, setting a new record for the range of destruction for kamikaze drones," the statement said. 

"Voronezh-M is a member of the 77Ya6 Voronezh family of Russian over-the-horizon radars. 

Orsk is located near the Russian border with Kazakhstan. 

According to Militarnyi, in the Orenburg Region, this radar controls the sector from the Taklamakan Desert to the Mediterranean Sea, with a viewing range of 6,000 kilometres.
