Russia has been using 3,000 controlled aerial bombs against Ukraine every month. In May, it dropped 3,200 of them, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a press conference in Madrid (broadcast by Suspilne).
According to him, this number could rise to 3,500 next month. It is impossible to shoot down such a number.
"There are not enough air defence missiles to stop 3,000 bombs a month. That number of missiles simply does not exist," he said.
Ukraine is asking for at least seven Patriot systems, including two for Kharkiv and the Region. This air defence system would help combat the aircraft from which Russia launches the CABs.
"These planes will not be able to fly so close to use bombs on civilians and the military. That is why we need these systems of the appropriate quality and quantity. I'm not talking about dozens of systems to completely block the sky over Ukraine," the President of Ukraine said.
There are enough of these systems in the world, Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
