Ukraine needs seven Patriot systems to close major urban agglomerations

Air defence is an opportunity to deprive Russia of its only advantage, the Ukrainian president believes.

Ukraine's defence forces won the Black Sea for Ukraine and proved that they can destroy any Russian and foreign drones. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at a conference on Ukraine's recovery in Berlin.

The key here is the ability to deprive Russia of a particular advantage. As of now, Russia's biggest advantage over Ukraine is air superiority, package and bomb terror, which helps Russians advance on the ground.

He explained that Russia launches up to a hundred and eighty KABs every day. On Monday, there were 95 CABs, which is an insanely destructive pressure, as the enemy also fires missiles and attack drones.

As long as Russia is not deprived of this opportunity, Putin will have no desire to seek a just peace. He said that air defence is the answer and thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in this context.

"We need at least seven Patriot systems to cover our main urban agglomerations in the near future," the president said.

Zelenskyy also stressed that last winter, Ukraine needed 18 gigawatts of energy generation. And this year, Russia has already destroyed more than nine gigawatts - half of it. Russia is using energy as a weapon. For comparison, he said that Berlin needs up to two GW, Munich - up to three. Ukraine has already lost more than that.
