The World Bank, together with partners and donors, has mobilised $42 billion in support of Ukraine under the PEACE initiative.

This was announced by the World Bank's Managing Director for Operations Anna Bjerde at the Conference on Ukraine's Recovery in Berlin, Ukrinform reports.

Ukraine has already received $38 billion in tranches of this amount.

Bjerde said that the World Bank considers its main task to support the functioning of the Ukrainian government so that the state continues to provide public services to citizens in the face of war.

"Together with the Ukrainian government, we have established the PEACE platform, which supports the budget of Ukraine so that the state can perform its core functions - whether it is salaries for teachers, healthcare, social spending, assistance to internally displaced persons, etc.

According to her, the World Bank finances 10 categories of budget items and helps Kyiv attract investment in various sectors, assess the damage caused by Russian aggression (it is already more than $486 billion) and forecast the prospects of the Ukrainian economy.
