Russia has intensified its offensive on the frontline to retain the initiative and achieve its tactical goals. The enemy has made some progress in the areas of Chasovyy Yar and Ocheretyne.

This was reported by Janno Märk, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces Operations Directorate for Operations, ERR reports.

"The main combat activity continues to be concentrated in the Pokrovske direction near Ocheretyne and around the Karlivka reservoir to put pressure on Chasiv Yar. The armed forces of the Russian Federation managed to expand the territory under their control with small tactical successes and entered Novooleksandrivka," said Märk.

According to him, the Russians are putting pressure on this section to keep the junction on the road connecting Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka under fire control.

The occupiers also managed to enter the settlements around Chasiv Yar. But despite the heavy offensive pressure, Ukraine's defence remained effective.

The deputy chief of staff of the Estonian Defence Forces' operational department said that Ukraine is trying to regain the initiative with counterattacks near Vovchansk.

"The Russian armed forces suffered heavy losses there and were forced to regroup. However, Russia is deploying additional troops to the region to hold the positions it has gained and, if possible, expand its offensive to other border areas," Märk added.
