The country decided to transfer the Patriot system to Ukraine, given the significant deterioration of the security situation in Ukraine as a result of Russia's constant and massive attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Today, 20 June, the Romanian Supreme National Defence Council, at a meeting chaired by President Klaus Iohannis, decided to transfer the Patriot system to Ukraine, RBC-Ukraine reports

"Given the significant deterioration of the security situation in Ukraine as a result of Russia's constant and massive attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, especially the energy sector, as well as the regional consequences of this situation, including Romania's security, in close coordination with its allies, the members of the Council decided to donate the Patriot system to Ukraine," the presidential press service said.
