On 3 July, Russia attacked Kharkiv with aerial bombs. Kyivskyy district came under fire.

According to the mayor, Ihor Terekhov, a residential area was hit.

At first, it was reported that one house was destroyed and another damaged. Rescuers pulled one child out of the rubble, and another child was trapped under the rubble.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synyehubov, said that another address where the shell hit caused a grass fire. Four victims are currently known.

"An 8-year-old boy, a 74-year-old woman, and a 75-year-old man. All of them are hospitalised. Another 38-year-old man was helped on the spot," the head of the regional military administration added.

Update 20.13. The number of victims has increased to 14. Among them is a two-week-old baby. 

Private houses, high-rise buildings, cars, a post office building, a service station, and a gym were damaged, the regional prosecutor's office said.

Update 18.10: Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office reports that eight people have already sought medical treatment. 

According to the head of the regional prosecutor's office, Oleksandr Filchakov, one of the munitions hit an open area on the outskirts of the city, while the other two hit residential buildings in the Kyiv district. The occupiers attacked Kharkiv from the territory of Belgorod, using UMPB D-30. This is a universal interspecies gliding munition; a new bomb with an additional engine that has a longer drop range.

Update 17.20. Terekhov said that there are already six injured at the two arrival sites. "Three of them, including an eight-year-old boy, are hospitalised," the mayor added. In addition, the information about another child under the rubble was fortunately not confirmed.
