A woman from Cherkasy was sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of all her property for high treason and justification of Russia's armed aggression (committed repeatedly), the Prosecutor General's Office reports.
Prosecutors proved in court that in February 2023, the woman carried out subversive activities against Ukraine in favour of the aggressor state. She carried out tasks for representatives of the Russian special service. She passed information and the exact coordinates of military facilities in Cherkasy and Cherkasy Region to the FSB.
The convict also actively justified Russia's invasion of Ukraine on social media and admired the aggressor state's military personnel and the Wagnerites.
In April 2023, the Cherkasy woman was detained.
During the investigation, the police found a video of the Wagner Group with the killed Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, draft recordings confirming cooperation with the Russian secret service, lists of propaganda YouTube channels and other evidence of illegal activities.
The woman committed these crimes during her probationary period. In 2022, she was convicted of denying Russia's armed aggression and glorification of its participants, as well as collaboration.
The convict was awaiting her sentence in custody.
As a reminder, an enemy informant was recently sentenced to 15 years in prison for high treason in Vinnytsya Region. Among other things, the investigation found that he was preparing missile attacks on Ukrzaliznytsya stations.
