Ukraine has received $2.2 billion from the IMF, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said.
He noted that this is part of the funds provided under the $16 billion EFF (Extended Fund Facility) programme.
"To receive them, Ukraine has done important homework and successfully passed the fourth review of the programme - for the first time in our bilateral relations with the IMF," the Prime Minister wrote.
Denys Shmyhal noted that the transferred amount would help the government finance critical budget expenditures, social benefits, and salaries for doctors and teachers.
