Eight children who were in Russia and the temporarily occupied territories have been returned to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

‘We managed to return 8 more children to the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine. The children were in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in Russia. They were rescued as part of the Bring Kids Back UA plan initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported by the charity organisation Save Ukraine,’ the ministry said.

Among the children who were returned is a 16-year-old girl from Ivano-Frankivsk Region. It is known that in 2021 she moved to her father's house in Russia, but after his tragic death in a car accident, she was left alone.

‘Despite the attempts of the Russian authorities to convince the girl to stay and take custody of Russian citizens, she wanted to return home. We managed to bring her to her mother,’ the Ministry of Reintegration added.

The ministry also reported that two Ukrainian families have returned from the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson Region, raising three boys.

The youngest of them is 10 years old, and the oldest is 17. The children and their parents are now safe. All the necessary services are involved in the adaptation of the families in the new place.
