President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the border area in Sumy Region and held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy and the head of the regional military administration. This is stated on the president's website.
Syrskyy reported on the situation in the area of active operations in the Kursk Region and on the front line in Ukraine. He informed about the steps taken to strengthen defence in the Toretsk and Pokrovsk directions, where Russians continue to concentrate their main efforts.
"In certain areas of the Kursk Region, Ukrainian forces took control of another settlement and replenished the exchange fund for our state. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reported on the establishment of the military commandant's office in the area," the statement said.
For his part, the head of the RMA, Volodymyr Artyukh, said that after the start of the Kursk operation, the number of shelling and civilian casualties in Sumy Region decreased.
