During his visit to Kyiv, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the allocation of humanitarian and other assistance to Ukraine, Yevropeyska Pravda reports.
According to the US Secretary of State, Russia is trying to attack the Ukrainian energy sector "to use cold as a weapon against the Ukrainian people".
"That's why today we are announcing $325 million in new financing to rebuild Ukraine's energy and electricity grids," Blinken said.
He added that a meeting of the G7 will soon be held to discuss assistance to Ukraine's energy sector.
In addition, the US is allocating $290 million in humanitarian support to provide safe drinking water, food and medicine.
